Various dates and locations, including the 2 day workshop for Fine Art students, Newcastle University (2016)

The experience of dissection and drawing of small dead rodents, focusing on the process of active engagement, critical looking and recording through means of drawing. Dissection (also called ‘anatomisation’) as the process of disassembling and observing something to determine internal structures forms the basis of the workshop, with drawing as an aid to discerning the anatomical interiority and dead state of specimens. The workshop is an opportunity to actively participate in a practice rarely experienced outside of a laboratory environment, and experiment with drawing as a method of engaging with the revealing of mortal interiority as a the product of dissection.
